Cardinal Clinic has established referral relationships with hundreds of GPs, consultant psychiatrists, solicitors, and corporate clients across the UK. We are committed to maintaining open, responsive communication with all referring professionals.
GPs & Primary Care
We accept direct GP referrals for psychiatric assessment, psychological therapy, and specialist treatment. We provide comprehensive discharge summaries and maintain close communication with your practice throughout treatment.
Consultant Psychiatrists
We work closely with NHS and private consultant psychiatrists for step-up and step-down care. Our clinical team is available for direct clinical discussion and joint care planning.
Solicitors & Legal Professionals
We provide expert psychiatric assessments, medico-legal reports, and specialist treatment for clients involved in personal injury, employment, or family law proceedings.

The Referral Process
Simple, fast, and clinically responsive.
We have designed our referral process to be as straightforward as possible. Our clinical liaison team is available to discuss cases, answer questions, and arrange assessments quickly.

Call or email our dedicated referrer line. Our clinical liaison team is available Monday to Friday, 8am–8pm, and can discuss clinical suitability, bed availability, and the referral process.
Submit a Referral
Referrals can be made by phone, email, or via our online referral form. We accept referrals from GPs, consultants, solicitors, and other healthcare professionals. A referral letter or GP summary is helpful but not always required.
Clinical Assessment
We will arrange a comprehensive assessment with one of our consultant psychiatrists, typically within 48 hours of referral. We will keep you informed of the outcome and our clinical recommendations.
Treatment & Communication
Throughout treatment, we will provide regular clinical updates and maintain open communication with the referring clinician. Discharge summaries are provided within five working days of discharge.
