Our History
45 years of clinical excellence.
Cardinal Clinic was founded in 1979 by Dr and Mrs Morrish with a simple but ambitious purpose: to provide the highest standard of private mental health care in a setting that felt genuinely therapeutic. Over four decades later, that purpose remains unchanged.
The Cardinal Clinic has grown from a small clinic into one of the leading comprehensive mental health services in the UK, offering the full spectrum of care from initial assessment through to long-term recovery. Our team of over 50 consultant psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists are among the most experienced in their fields.
In 2025, Cardinal Clinic became part of collaborative venture between the Portobello Group and PROMIS — one of the world's leading addiction treatment centres. This partnership has significantly expanded our clinical capabilities and allowed us to offer a truly seamless and unique continuum of care.
